Vehicles which become abandoned by their owners or unscrupulous insurance companies are processed through the State of Georgia and are approved for public auction via a court order.
Auctions typically occur on the last Wednesday of each month. There is a $200.00 cash deposit to obtain a bidder number. The deposit is either credited towards the purchase price or refunded to you after the auction when you return your bidder number.
The yard opens for inspections at 8:00 am and the auction begins at 10:00 am. Southside Wrecker Service provides all documents (Court order, T-22B, T-158 and a copy of the MV603R) needed for you to get a title for the purchased vehicle as long as you are a resident of the State of Georgia. Southside Wrecker Service will not get a title for you. If you are an out of State resident check with the DMV of your State to see what it takes for you to get a title for your purchase.
One last thing if you are a tax exempt customer: We need to update our data base and need a new copy of your tax exempt document.
NOTICE: Unfortunately not all wrecker services process their abandoned vehicles according to state code. If you buy a vehicle from a wrecker service please make sure there is either a clear title or a court ordered foreclosure that accompanies the vehicle.
