Vehicle Impound Search & Release Service in Union City, Atlanta & Newnan, GA
When your car gets towed, you want answers fast. Southside Wrecker’s vehicle impound search puts that information in one place: enter your license plate number or VIN into the tool above, and you’ll see whether your vehicle is sitting in our Union City impound lot before you make a single phone call.
The database updates as vehicles come in, so a quick search usually tells you everything you need: where your car is, what it will take to get it back, and who to call with questions. It’s the quickest way to find your towed car in Georgia when you’re not sure where to start.
Which Car Impound Lot Is Holding Your Vehicle
Southside Wrecker manages vehicle impounds out of two yards, one in Union City and one in Newnan, and handles recoveries throughout Atlanta, Fayetteville, Peachtree City, and the rest of our service area. If your search turns up a match, the results point you to the right lot so you’re not driving to the wrong address.
Light-duty vehicles like sedans and minivans move through the same basic process as larger vehicles. Heavy-duty recoveries, think semi-trucks and construction equipment, sometimes take a bit longer given the size and complexity of the job.
Still Can’t Find Your Vehicle? Try a Different Search
If your first search comes up empty, don’t assume the worst. A towed vehicle locator can miss a match for a few reasons: a typo in the VIN, a plate that hasn’t been entered yet, or a tow that happened outside our service area. Try running it again, this time searching by the number you didn’t use the first time. Whether you find a towed car by VIN number or find a towed vehicle by license plate, the tool checks the same database either way.
If our tow locator still doesn’t return a result, call our team directly. We can look up a vehicle faster than the online tool in cases where the record is still being processed.
What Happens After You Locate Your Vehicle
Finding your car in our system is the easy part. Releasing it from the impound yard requires proof it’s actually yours: a valid ID, proof of ownership or registration, and payment for towing and storage fees. If someone else is picking up the vehicle on your behalf, they’ll need a signed vehicle release authorization form along with their own ID.
